Why it matters

Rest is not a luxury for the people doing the caring.

Families providing round the clock support rarely stop. A weekend away, a hospital stay, a wedding, or simply a full night of sleep can feel impossible to arrange, and the guilt attached to asking makes it harder still.

Respite exists to remove that impossible choice. The person you care for gets a genuinely good few days. You get to be a spouse, a parent to your other children, or just a person with a Saturday.

What a stay includes

Planned like a visit, not like a placement.

An older woman dancing with a companion, both laughing

Games and movie nights

Cards, board games, a film with the lights down and something good to eat. The evenings people actually remember.

A young woman listening to music with headphones, relaxed

Music and crafts

Instruments, playlists, paint, and materials that are out on the table rather than locked in a cupboard.

Two people looking at a tablet together, working something out

Home-cooked meals

Real food, cooked in the kitchen, with anyone who wants to help. Preferences and dietary needs are agreed before arrival.

A group of friends standing together in a park, mid conversation

Community outings

A trip out during the stay so the days have shape, chosen from what the guest already enjoys.

A woman relaxing on a sofa at home

Time to do nothing

Quiet space, a door that closes, and no obligation to join in. Downtime is part of the plan, not a failure of it.

Before a stay

Nobody arrives for an overnight stay having never seen the house.

Visit first

Every guest and family is invited to tour the home before anything is booked. You see the bedrooms, the bathrooms, the kitchen, and the living areas, and you meet the people who will be on shift.

Tell us the details

Routines, medication, food they love, food they will not touch, the show that has to be on at seven, the noise that is unbearable, and the thing that helps when a day goes sideways. Nothing is too small to write down.

Try a short stay

Many families start with a single afternoon or one night before booking a full weekend. There is no pressure to commit to more until everyone is comfortable.

Rest, properly

You get an update when you want one and silence when you would rather have it. The point of respite is that you actually get to stop.

Straight answers

Questions we get asked about this service.

If yours is not here, call 484-378-2277 and ask. We would rather answer it now than have you guess.

Yes, and we would rather you did. Every guest and family is invited to tour the home first. Bring the person who would be staying. Nobody arrives for an overnight having never seen the house.

Clothes, medication, and anything that makes the place feel familiar: a pillow, a blanket, a specific mug, headphones. We provide meals, bedding and towels. Tell us the food they love and the food they will not touch.

Many families do. A single afternoon or one night is a normal way to begin, and there is no pressure to book a full weekend until everyone is comfortable.

One next step

Tell us one thing they love doing.

That is enough to begin. We build the first session around it and work outward from there, and we reply within one business day.
